About the Irish Real Tennis Association
| |
The IRTA was formed in October 1998 in response to the plans to turn the
Dublin real tennis court, on Earlsfort Terrace, into a recital hall.
Since then, its chief activity has been the pursuit of the return of
the court to its original use. We have also held
Irish Real Tennis Championships
each year since 2003 (by necessity hosted by sympathetic UK real
tennis clubs), and several friendly fixtures.
Some IRTA members outside the Dublin court. From left to right: Ben
North, Bear North, Ted Neville (secretary), Mike Bolton (chairman),
John McGrath.
