InterClub challenge 25–26 October, 2025

In the group stage, the results were as follows:

Danny Dawson v Jon Speirs (Wales): Jon lived up to his nickname and used force to overcome a slightly rusty Danny 6–2.

DD v David Harris (MMTCC): David raced to a 5–2 lead, but Danny composed himself to come back to 5–5, then narrowly lost out in a tight final game, 6–5.

DD v Simon Hobson (MMTCC): Another tight match going back and forth, but home court advantage played out in another 6–5 thriller.

Doubles saw Roy Rogers and Richard Ramjane play together. Firstly, against Wales in the form of Mike Llewelyn Jones and Tim Harper, winning 6–3. Then against two MMTCC teams, winning against Charles Whitworth and Tony Branfield 6–3, and against a youngster, Harry Tippets, with partner Richard Cherry 6–2. Topping the group they went on to Sunday's proceedings:

• Quarter-final vs Jesmond's Tony Harrison and Paul Brennan, winning 6-3.
• Semi-final vs Leamington's Bob Compton and John Devis, winning that one also 6–3.

The final was against two familiar opponents for Richard, in Prested Hall's Ian Hawkey and Phil Moreton. This was a very tight affair, and ebbed and flowed with RR and RR coming out with a 6–5 win. It’s fair to say that the turning point in this match was Roy beating chase better than two yards with a volley return from the hazard end at 5–4 down to demoralise the Prested pairing.

Thanks to both Leamington and Moreton. Both clubs hosted a fantastic weekend again!
